"OH
WHAT
A
NIGHT"
is
a
song
title
that
comes
to
mind
that
sums
up
the
2008
Eleven
Mile
Music
Co.
Spring
Shootout
Grand
Finale
at
The
Celtic
Tavern
in
Olde Town Conyers.
The
excitement
and
anticipation of the
Spring
Shootout
Finale'
began
to
fester
at
around
7:30
as
the
artist
made
their
way
past
the
judges
as
they
entered
the
Tavern.
The
Semi-Finals
round
kicked
off
with
Karen
Pinsonault
as
she
had
drawn
the
number
one
starting
spot.
Karen
opened
the
festivities
in
style
with
three
great
songs.
Karen
was
followed
by
Jim
Morton,
Steve
Buck
&
Anthony
Mancini,
Trevor
Smith
and
Ken
Fuchs.
All
were
in
exceptional
form
as
they
performed
in
front
judges
who
were
sitting
front
and
center.
Only
two
would
move
onto
the
Grand
Finale.
The
judges
vote
went
to
Jim
Morton
and
Trevor
Smith
received
the
crowds
vote
to
move
into
the
finale.
At
the
conclusion
of
the
Semi
Finalist
round
Eight
Grand
Finalist
were
called
to
the
judges
table
to
draw
for
their
performing
order. Our
special
thanks
and
gratitude goes out to
our
judges.

and
last
but
not

and
Dustin

OH
WHAT
A
NIGHT
comes
back
to
mind.
I
was
so
impressed
with
the
seriousness
each
performer
displayed.
Watching
each
performer
was
amazing
as
they
made
their
way
to
the
performers
corner,
step
up
and
just
give
it
their
all.
There
was
not
a
bad
performance
in
the
house.
The
crowd
was
electric
as
each
artist
left
the
stage.
The mood
remained
serious
throughout the
evening. It was
10:35 pm when
the last artist left the stage and the judges
retired to chambers to make the final decisions.
They
returned
a
few
moments
later
to
announce
they
were
deadlocked
for
second
place,
we
had
a
tie.
Jim
Morton
and
Zack
Best
were
requested
back
to
the
stage
for
a
play
off.
The
judges
announced
they
were
interested
in
strictly
stage
presence
in
this
final
performance!
Each
performed
one
song.
At
this
point
The
Tavern
was
buzzing
with
anticipation.
The
judges
final
decision
for
second
place
went
to
Zack
Best,
Great
job
to
both
Jim
Morton
and
Zack
Best.
It
was
now
time
for
the
final
gavel.
The sealed
envelope
holding
the
name
of
the
judges
choice
was
handed to
Holly

Silence
came
over
the

as

opened the
envelope, The

God

of
you
for your continued
support of the Open Mic at The Celtic which is
about
to
head
into
it's
eight
year
in
May.
I would also
like to thank all the family and friends of the
artist as they are so supportive week after week.
Special
thanks
to
Jeremiah
Sommers
for
his
weekly
assistance.
We have
been fortunate to see so many who have grown in
their musical ability and so many that work very
hard to improve their skill. We are there as much to
assist the artist in any way we can and look forward
to seeing you all soon.
We
would like to thank Patrick Best and the Sunday
Paper
as
well
as
Ken
Fuchs
and
The
Fox
Winery
&
Vineyards

Covington
Georgia
for
their
continued support.
Last
but not least, thanks to Walt and Holly Sammons for
their continued support of the local artist and
music scene. The Celtic Tavern is a great place and
feels like home to many of us in the local music
community.
I
am
just
proud
to
be
a
part
of
the
local
music
community.
Many
a
cherished

I
personally
find
the
Celtic

to
be
a
great
place
for
our

Considering
the

of
Olde

and
in
my
opinion
The

has
a
unique
atmosphere
of
it's
own
and
when
it
comes
to
Open
Mic,
It
just
plain
feels
like
home.
HOPE
to
see
you
all
soon.
Thanks
again,
God

Judging
the
Grand
Finale
The Judges,
Thanks is simply not enough when it comes to the
judges. It often seems a thankless job, But someone
has to do it and what an excellent job they did. I had
so much confidence in the judges, with their
background and experience I knew we were on good
hands. They took the job very seriously from the
moment they entered the Celtic Tavern. They all graciously gave
their time to take on the task of listening and
judging the artist taking time to seriously critique
each performance and collectively determine based on
true talent who would be he evenings winners. There
was much talk among the judges as to how well everyone
performed. But as in any contest they had to narrow it
down to two and that they did. Be
